3 Reasons to Escape #Blizzard2016 in Costa Rica

By in Adventure with 0 Comments

Given the current #Blizzard2016 watch we keep reading about from all our friends in North America we thought it would only be necessary to point out 3 reasons to come visit us in Costa Rica. For those who have visited us before these will just be friendly reminders of what you are missing out on!

1.Warm Waters

Costa Rica boasts some of the warmest Pacific Ocean waters, especially this time of year. With an average of 27 degrees Celsius (approximately 80 degrees Fahrenheit) its no wonder people tend to flock to the ocean and cool off. There are multiple activities you can enjoy in the waters as well. Surfing, swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and snorkeling are just some of the fun things Costa Rica has to offer, while not wearing a snow suit or even a wet suit for that matter!

  1. Clear Skies

With an average daily temperature of 30 degrees Celsius (approximately 86 degrees Fahrenheit) you wont be fighting with gloves, scarves, boots and layers of clothing, rather you will be deciding which bikini or board shorts you should wear that day to stay cool while you aren’t in the water. Costa Rica basically has two seasons, dry & rainy. Our dry season, or summer, starts in December and goes until around May, giving you 12 hours of bright blue skies during the day and warm, starry nights to enjoy.

  1. Beautiful Beaches

Costa Rica has some of the nicest beaches in the world, especially Mal Pais and Santa Teresa areas. With more than 10 kilometers of pristine, unspoiled beaches to explore from Mal Pais, Santa Teresa, Playa Hermosa and Manzanillo, its no wonder you can often find yourself to be the only ones. During low tide take a drive to one of the many natural tide pools and enjoy a relaxing time in your own private dipping pool. In the early evening, typically around 5:30 p.m. take a seat at any beach, bring a cold beer and enjoy the breathtaking Costa Rican sunsets.

No matter your reasons, Winter Storm Jonas, #Snowmageddon or another one, Costa Rica vacation is always a good idea. At RE/MAX Pura Vida we are happy to help plan your next trip here!
